Summary

Bill Description

AN ACT relating to public health and safety; requiring the governor to convene the legislature after declaring that a public health emergency exists as specified; authorizing the legislature to satisfy quorum requirements and vote in person or remotely by an electronic method; amending the definition of public health emergency as specified; making conforming amendments; specifying applicability; and providing for an effective date.

Notes

HB128 will require that after the governor declares a public emergency that he will convene the legislature on the second day following the declaration.   The legislature will then decide of the public health emergency is warranted and will have the authority to terminate the public health emergency by vote in person or remotely by an electronic method.  This bill provides measures to assure Wyoming's legislator has final oversight over critical public health emergency standings which in turn gives Wyomingites more direct representation.
