AN ACT relating to safety for a newborn child; authorizing a grant program for safe haven providers to purchase newborn safety devices as specified; providing definitions; requiring rulemaking; providing an appropriation; and providing for effective dates.

Notes

This bill authorizes the Department of Family Services to administer a grant program to provide grants for safe haven providers to purchase and make available newborn safety devices.  This is vitally important for Wyoming so that we have the necessary locations and equipment so that a parent can anonymously surrender an unharmed infant to ensure the child's safety and well-being rather than face abandonment.
