Bill Description
AN ACT relating to elections; prohibiting a person from distributing unsolicited absentee ballot application forms to any qualified elector as specified; and providing for an effective date.
Notes
A commonsense bill that will protect Wyoming's elections by assuring no person, except a county clerk, the secretary of state or their designees, can distribute an absentee ballot request form to any qualified elector unless that qualified elector specifically solicits an absentee ballot request form. This also includes any document that claims to be or that is deceptively similar to an official election document and that is provided to the qualified elector by mail, email or any other means.
If passed, SF78 will protect Wyoming's election process by preventing bad actors from both out-of-state as well as in-state from ballot harvesting to abnormally influence our elections.
